Hillary Clinton appears to have backed a call for a full investigation into Russian meddling in the election.
The President candidate retweeted a message calling for the FBI and other intelligence agencies to launch a full investigation, from a politician who has said that reports of Donald Trump’s ties to the kremlin “should concern all Americans”.
“The intelligence community concluded the Russians will interfere again,” wrote Adam Schiff, the most senior Democrat who sits on the House Intelligence Committee. “This is why full investigation is important to country. Please stop.”
The controversial orders Donald Trump has already issued
Mr Schiff’s “please stop” message was apparently addressed to Donald Trump, who has repeatedly criticised attempts to have the Russian meddling in the investigation looked into.
Mr Schiff’s call apparently reflects frustration with the current intelligence comittee inquiry.
While Ms Clinton didn’t give her explicit support to the tweet, her profile mostly consists of retweets of messages that support her campaigns or causes she agrees with.
Ms Clinton indicated over the weekend that she was prepared to “come out of the woods” and return to politics, after near-complete silence since the day after the election.
That appears so far to have mostly consisted of retweets and other messages. Last week, for instance, she approvingly tweeted a post by Philippe Reines, her former advisor, in which he joke about Donald Trump’s underestimation of the job of the presidency.
The tweet was a reference to, among other things, the fact that Mr Trump had expressed surprise about how “complicated” healthcare can be, and said that “nobody knew” it was going to be so difficult.
