On Contact: Noam Chomsky – Part I

On this week’s episode of On Contact, Chris Hedges travels to Cambridge, Massachusetts for a conversation with America’s most important intellectual, Professor Noam Chomsky. In Part I of their conversation, Chomsky discusses the adverse effects of neoliberalism on the working class, as addressed in his book, “Requiem for the American Dream: The 10 Principles of Concentration of Wealth & Power”.

  1. Noam is spot on about the conscious raising of tuition to burden people so they do not protest the status quo. It is the same agenda as to getting women to work and freezing the wage so people no longer have the time or the means to protest.

  2. I do not understand how great minds like Chomsky and Hedges so blindly accept the anthropogenic climate change theory, which has been rife with corruption, misleading information, pseudoscience, and outright inaccuracies. While this is an excellent conversation to listen to, when someone like these two men, who take so much time to analyze human societal interactions, are blind to the market driven concept of 'anthropogenic climate change', the false bogeyman of CO2 as a pollutant, etc., I find it incredulous.

  3. Very dumb comment, Americas greatest intellectual. There are many!. I could never stand up to his intellect. Nor yours Chris. No question. But, why would you say that Chris? Who are you trying to impress? Oh, I forgot. You used to work for the, "Israel is always right" NYT. Don't get me wrong. I have been a fan of Noam and his comments on the injustice going on in Palestine. But James Corbett opened my eyes as to Noam is perhaps being a gate keeper. The fact that he accepts the 9/11 myth, that says it all for me. I do not trust him anymore.
